Art. It is not just for artists. As I, Command+D, have recently learned there are non-professional artists who actually create art too. I'm not talking about your great uncle here, I'm talking about the only people Command+D cares to associate with: celebrities!
That's right. When Command+D isn't ruling the internets he's at fancy Hollywood soirees and hob-nobbing with the biggest celebrities since Sammy Davis Jr. One evening I was at my good, good friend Pierce Brosnan's place and I noticed a fantastic painting on the wall. We all know how celebrities love to show off the stuff they buy from all the money they make, and so I asked him about it. I figured he'd go on in a semi-serious tone about how he found the art at a gallery in Manhattan or about the art scene in Berlin or something, but he shocked the living hell out of me when he told me that he'd painted it himself! What happened next was beyond belief. Every other celebrity friend of mine at the party confided that they too were artists.
When I got home (aka the internet) I looked around to see if they were pulling my leg, but no! It's true. And you know what? Some of them weren't half bad. It is impossible to say if any of these celebrities would have been able to make their living as a working artist, but I suspect one or two might have. Here are the ten highlights. Snach the ones up that I haven't already purchased because after Command+D sheds some light on these babies they're gonna be priceless!
1. Mr. Benefit!
2. Trek art? Think again. This one was my favorite, and I may soon buy it to put in my dining room.
3. Art isn't even confined to celebrities! At least one politician got in on the act too.
4. Okay, so maybe two politicians. He wouldn't admit he had art of his own until Pierce and I got a few martinis in him. That goofus!
5. I'd forgotten who she was until someone mentioned Inland Empire, but I think she may be my favorite artist of the bunch. Each of my 23,007 relatives will recieve a box of her making next year for my birthday, so get crackin' Grace!
6. Of course the opressively ubiquidous Queen of Suck was there too, her album in hand.
7. This guy cancelled out #6's lameness. Some people are born with it.
8. Call him Lando!
9. Hands down the this was the best site design of the evening.
10. Oh, and I almost forgot the host himself.
There were many more, but I got into such a heated argument with Peter Falk that I had to go home early and I didn't feel like searching the rest of them out. I hope they all win Oscars or Grammy's or Nickelodeon Moon Men this year for best not film related artwork. Who's art did you like the best?
PS - I have to note that the piece of art that accompanies this article is not painted by Tiger, though it is signed by him, which makes it essentially his own art.

Come on, Eldrick.

[...] Command+D realizes the topic is going to be a cake walk. Even you could put this one together, dumpy! But then again it takes an exceptionally bad President to create so much great humor. Besides that, next week this will become so passé. So lets all have one last good long hard laugh at “not my president.” [...]
